Monthly (yearly?) Update

Hi all- so sorry I haven't been posting. Things are back to the normal craziness in my life so I've just been steadily busy. (Those of you with kids will understand!)
I've been renting space at Lighten Up in Alachua for almost two months now. Things are going slow, but they are sending me a few new clients. I finally got my business cards printed so I'm handing out those like crazy. Business is a little slow for everyone out there right now- clients are generally busy during the holidays. I know I hardly have any free time for a massage for me!

I'm spending every waking hour getting ready for the Holiday Craft Show at the O'Dome this weekend. This is the only show I do to sell my jewelry so it's usually a big deal for me. I've been making tons of earrings and some cool new necklaces. Y'all come by and say hi if you go to the show (and I may need a potty break- Pleeeeeeze!) My booth is close to the entrance, just turn left as you walk in Gate 1. I'll be right there! (Booth # 2133)

Some friends of mine opened a yarn shop (Hanks Yarn & Fiber in Millhopper Square) and I've been learning how to knit socks! I just finished my first pair!! Yes, I said "first"-I plan on making many more. I told my sister-in-law that they were lucky that I just learned how or they'd all be getting hand knit socks for Christmas!! They teach classes at Hanks too and I've been going by after class and giving out cards and some free mini massages for the students, hoping to get some knitter clients!

I ran into QuiQui at Publix a few weeks ago. It was so sweet to see her! She's working at a day care nearby so I hope to run into her again soon. Then right after that I was driving out of the parking lot and I saw Marshall chowing down at RolyPoly! I got my FSM double-shot that day!

That's all I can think of right now- I'll be back soon.
If anyone wants to trade massage let me know. (My flexors are fuct!)

Love you all!
Stephanie

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE

Hello everyone,
I was sitting here thinking about the week ahead. and wanted to wish everyone A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I am so thankful for everything in the past and what is to come in the future. I hope everyone enjoys Family, Friends and Favorite Foods. I am looking forward to being with family and enjoying our favorites.

Since I haven't blogged in a while, I will catch up. I have been working a few hours a week at Seventh Heaven Day Spa and Salon, in the office, ordering equuipment and boutique items. The Spa doesn't open to do services until Jan. In the meantime. Hope Scents is keeping me as busy as possible. Just finished making new products that I hope I can sell to the Spa for resale. If anyone is interested in adding retail to your mt business, let me know and we will get together.

Also checked back with the Chiropractor in Trenton last week and hopefully will be working there in the next couple of weeks. Until then, just trying to keep busy.

I still miss you all and think of you often. Take care and drop me a line or a call .
Love to you all.

So, as I was saying.....(Psoas)

Hello all!
Hope this finds you well. Yesterday in Connective Tissue we discovered the wonderful Psoas. I have been looking forward to this class because over the years I've heard about the importance of this guy (maybe a gal). It was surprising to me how many people in the class had some kind of reaction to having their psoas touched. Isn't it amazing how powerful this stuff can be!

Went to a talk at UF last night on Compassion and Medicine. Really cool stuff. The speaker lived in Nepal at a base camp for Mt. Everest to help climbers in trouble and also worked with the locals. He learned a lot about compassion and healing from the local Buddhists elders. The speaker (Dr. David Shlim; book entitled, “Compassion and Medicine”) is now trying to bring compassion to the medical profession, because lord knows it's lacking in the current system. It occurred to me as I was walking back to my car after the talk that as massage therapists we have a real opportunity to bring compassion to healing and reducing suffering. What a great profession we are in.
Lastly, for all interested, the Class Photo of the wonderful Winter Class of 2007 is now proudly displayed right next to Adam's office. Coming out of the library, you can't miss it (us). I miss you guys! Please stay in touch!
Yours,
Greg

Sorry for losing touch!

I just want to say I'm Sorry for not keeping in touch. It's not that I have been extremely busy or anything, so I really don't have any excuse. This is actually my first week with no clients since I've been home. However this week I got my advanced divers certification, so I've been busy doing LOTS of diving.

I was able to get all my advertising out and hopefully I will get some more clients. I did a massage on Sunday evening and made a twenty dollar tip! I was really stoked!

Anyway, not much is going on with me. I'm planning a trip back to Gainesville the last week in March first week in April for my sisters bestfriends wedding...so hopefully we can have a reunion then!

Lots of love
Nicole

I just wanted to know if anyone is going to the Landisfest live music/party at FSM on Sat. Nov. 10th? Because I will be there and I want to see you guys!!!!

Also, I'm doing okay now.....I am no longer with Vonzen, I'm living with my sis and her boyfriend again, and am looking for a job....
I can finally be myself! WOOHOO!(understatement):) Well, I can finally be myself in Gainesville, but not necessarily without judgement here...but hey, I'm living my own life and no one is going to dictate what I should do(well actually they are but I now realize they have no right to, and it's much easier to let it go:) So other than that, life is good....

Love,
Rosalind

Marshall,

Hope you don't mind me moving your comments to a post since I want to make sure nobody misses it. I agree, yesterday was a fantastic day. Looking forward to the 10th.

Best regards,

Graduation was fantastic! I had a really fun time, and it was extra special to be in the "staff line" to give out hugs! what a trip.and Greg I agree 100%. the may 2007 class has been such an awesome group of people. even after graduation, clumps of them were hanging around school just to continue being with each other. huxley, bruno, michelle, shazzy, johnajohna, so many others I immensely enjoyed sharing space with and watching as they took their trip. FSM really does facilitate magic human experience... if people are open to it.tonight

Danny (in the graduating class) threw a party at his house so I got to play a little longer with some of the kids. Chris & LJ showed, plus Ash and Katie bug in the may class, and Kalina and RC in the new class... it's really all starting to feel like one class to me! LOL.

Of course, nothing compares to the 30 or so friends I shared massage space with every day!and now, I'm turning it in for the night = ) got 2 sessions to give tomorrow (my weekly couple, what a sweet deal!!!) I've also beeing picking up call-in clients at FSM... life is good... ok I'm riffing way out now... oh yeah I bought my own djembe... I'm eating dry cereal out of the bag... my legs kindof hurt, anyone wanna gimme a sports flush?...ok good night for real!!!-marshall
